#42: The power of re
Dear friends, welcome to Living Boldly. I’m so delighted you’re here.
As of today, there are 67 full days left in 2020. It seems like only yesterday we were mapping out big plans for this year, dreaming high and wide, planning our world domination. And then, it all blew up in our face and flew by in an instant.
If the last ten months are an indication of what’s yet to come, these 67 days are guaranteed to be … interesting. There is a lot that we still need to face: the US presidential elections, the surge of the pandemic, the rush for the vaccine, the holidays, the summing-up of all our efforts this year.
If you, like me, are feeling a little wistful for all the things that did not come to be this year, join me in this short re meditation.
We have the power to re.
Restart.
Renew.
Revitalize.
Rearrange.
Restore.
Rewrite.
Recast.
Retry.
Reshape.
Reimagine.
We have the power to reimagine what the future—our future—may hold. This year may not have gone according to anyone’s plans, but we have the power to begin again. Resiliency is a human trademark. We can begin again.
So don’t let the last 67 days of this crappy year grind you down. Recharge. Realign. Refocus. And let’s try again next year.
Onwards,
Yulia
P.S. This week’s Genius Womxn podcast guest has another re word for us: relax. My dear friend and a language coach Feriel Temmar says: “Relax. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself… Do not let the stress build when you work for yourself. The more pressure you put on yourself, the less productive you are.” You can catch the full episode here. (And listen on Apple here.)
This week’s joy links:
I’m reading One Million Minutes BC* (*Before Coronavirus). Well, it’s a very short comic strip really, so this week, it’s a bit of a cheat.
I’m listening on repeat to Studio Ghibli Tribute Mix, a compilation of incredible remixed soundtracks from the masterpieces of Hayao Miyazaki and his animation film studio
I’m watching Crash Landing On You and I don’t want it to end ever
