#44: H.O.P.E.
Dear friends, welcome to Living Boldly. Today, more than ever, I wish I was on the streets of New York, celebrating and drinking the atmosphere of this historic moment.
We did it, friends. We voted the man out. We elected the first female, Black, Indian-American as our Vice President. We chose hope over fear.
It was incredibly close and the work is not over (in fact it’s cut out for us more than ever before). But for this weekend, this month, and this one long, lousy year, we can take a moment to breathe, celebrate our win, and return to H.O.P.E.
Human beings need hope to dream, to act, and to thrive. Without hope, we are truly lost.
And while the world is just as complex, difficult, unequal, and downright ruthless today as it was on Friday, because of yesterday’s historic win, it is now a little more hopeful and that is making me step a little lighter, with my wings spread a little wider, into tomorrow.
Onwards,
Yulia
P.S. The podcast episode I recorded this week is one of my favorites to date (and many listeners said the same!). It’s with my dear friend and lifestyle/travel photographer Karthika Gupta and it’s full of joy, laughter, and honest moments on this creative journey. Listen on Apple here and Spotify here.
This week’s joy links:
I’m reading Kamala Harris Makes History as First Woman and Woman of Color as Vice President
I’m listening to America the Beautiful via Joe Biden’s Instagram page
I’ve blown through The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix in a couple of nights, a fitting way to cap this historic week with a series featuring a powerful female lead
